This Privacy Policy describes how 3DBuildX Technologies Inc. ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the LayerX mobile application and LayerX smart LED devices (together, the "Service"). By using the LayerX app, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

3. Third-Party Services
We share information with the following service providers who help us operate the app:
Google LLC (Firebase services)
- Firebase Authentication: user account management
- Firebase Realtime Database: device settings and cloud sync
- Firebase Analytics: app usage analytics and crash reporting
- Google Cloud Platform: cloud infrastructure and data storage
Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- AWS IoT Core: real-time device commands, status, and telemetry for supported LayerX devices.
HiveMQ
- HiveMQ Cloud: real-time device commands and status for supported LayerX devices.
These service providers are contractually obligated to protect your information and use it only to provide services to us. They do not use your information for their own purposes. We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
4. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:
- Access and portability: request a copy of the personal information we hold about you in a portable format.
- Correction: request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Deletion: request deletion of your personal information, or delete your account through the app.
- Object and restrict: object to or restrict certain processing of your information.
- Withdraw consent: withdraw consent where we rely on consent to process your information.
How to request account and data deletion
You can delete your account from within the LayerX app. You can also request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing info@3dbuildx.com from the email address linked to your account, with the subject line "LayerX account deletion". We will respond to privacy requests within 30 days.
5. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have specific rights:

7. Security and Data Retention
Security measures
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information. WiFi credentials are encrypted during Bluetooth transmission. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Data retention
We retain your personal information for as long as you maintain an account with us. When you delete your account, we will delete your personal information, except where we are required to retain it for legal or legitimate business purposes.
8. App Permissions
The LayerX app requests the following permissions:
- Bluetooth: required to discover and connect to LayerX devices.
- Location: required by Android for WiFi network scanning. We do not collect or track your location.
- Internet: required for cloud features and remote device control.
- WiFi state: required to scan and display available WiFi networks during device setup.
- Microphone: used by the Music Sync feature to react to ambient sound in real time. Audio is processed on your device only — we do not record, store, or transmit audio.
- Camera and Photos: used by the Photo Palette feature to let you pick colors from a photo you take or choose. Photos are processed on your device only and are never uploaded or stored by us.
- Phone state (call detection): used only to detect when a call is ringing, so LayerX can flash your lights as an alert if you turn this feature on. We do not access your call history, contacts, or phone number.
9. Children's Privacy
LayerX is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at info@3dbuildx.com and we will delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
