Important: 2.4GHz WiFi Only

Tumbu devices work only with 2.4GHz WiFi networks, not 5GHz. Most routers broadcast both - look for the network name without "5G" or "5GHz" in it.

Setup Guide

Follow these simple steps to get your Tumbu device connected

Download the Tumbu App

Search for "Tumbu" in the App Store (iPhone/iPad) or Google Play Store (Android) and install the app.

Power On Your Device

Connect your Tumbu device to power using the included USB cable. The LEDs will show a blue breathing pattern when ready.

Open the Tumbu App

Launch the app and create an account or sign in if you already have one.

Tap "Add Device"

On the main screen, tap the "Add Device" or "+" button to start scanning for nearby devices.

Select Your Device

Your device will appear with a name like "TUMBU-XXXX-XXX". Tap on it to begin setup.

Choose WiFi Network

Select your 2.4GHz WiFi network and enter the password. The app will detect available networks automatically.

Connect & Wait

Tap Connect and wait for the setup process to complete. This may take 1-2 minutes.

Enjoy Your Device

Once connected, your device will appear in the app. Pull down to refresh if you don't see it immediately.

Connection Success!

When you see 'Device connected successfully!', setup is complete.

⚡ The device may take 1–2 minutes to appear in your device list. Pull down to refresh if needed.

Special Note for iPhone & iPad Users

Important: Before adding your device, connect your iPhone/iPad to the WiFi network you want your Tumbu device to use.

The app will automatically detect your current network since iOS doesn't allow scanning for available networks.

You may be asked to allow:

  • Bluetooth: To find and connect to your device
  • Location: Required by iOS to detect WiFi networks
  • Local Network : To communicate with Tumbu devices

Troubleshooting

Common issues and how to fix them

Device Not Appearing in Scan?

  • Make sure the device is powered on (blue breathing LEDs)
  • Move your phone closer to the device (within 10 feet)
  • Close and reopen the Tumbu app
  • Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone

Connection Failed?

  • Double-check your WiFi password is correct
  • Confirm you're using a 2.4GHz network (not 5GHz)
  • Make sure your WiFi router is nearby and working
  • Try resetting the device and start over

Device Shows Offline in App?

  • Check if the device is powered on
  • Make sure your WiFi router is working
  • The device may have lost WiFi connection - try resetting
  • Pull down to refresh the device list in the app

How to Factory Reset?

  • Locate the blue button on the bottom of your device
  • Press and hold the button for 5 seconds
  • Keep holding until LEDs blink red rapidly (10 times)
  • Release the button - device will restart with blue breathing pattern
  • Warning: This erases all settings and removes device from your account

Factory Reset Instructions

If you need to reset your device to factory settings (to change WiFi networks or fix connection issues):

How to Reset:

  1. Locate the BLUE BUTTON on the bottom of your device
  2. Press and HOLD the blue button
  3. Keep holding for 5 seconds
  4. LEDs will start blinking red rapidly
  5. Continue holding until you see 10 fast red blinks
  6. Release the button
  7. Device will restart with blue breathing pattern
Warning: This will erase all settings and remove the device from your account. You'll need to set it up again from scratch.
